Ah, early August… Transfer rumours spreading like wildfire, new signings scoring their first goals in friendlies : it’s that time of the year for football fans when the new season can’t start soon enough.
It’s also time for the keenest, most knowledgeable supporters to make sure they have their facts straight about everything and anything to do with the game, before 9 months of pub quizzes, bets and anecdote-sharing. If you yourself fit the above description, you’ll be happy to know that there is in fact a Higher Power in terms of football expertise.
His name is the Gaffer. His identity remains a secret, as his awareness about every aspect of the game and his love for facts, stats and data make him one of the most sought-after football scholars in the kingdom. But be sure that if you have a question, whether it be who was the referee in a 1972 game between Leeds and West Brom or how many African players have played for Manchester United, he’ll have a detailed answer for you in no time.
After a quick gander this morning, I learned plenty of valuable information as well as some absolutely useless stuff which should nevertheless make me the go-to guy when it comes to football knowledge amongst my (many) friends.
If you want to know more about football in general, or get accurate intel from a reliable source to settle a bet, then the Gaffer’s your man. Drop him a line now and feel his wisdom !
