2012 Orange live blog: time to take stock

le blog live Orange part en vacances !

holidays time!

high tech

Whether we like it or not, the technology and innovation sector, specific to Orange, is constantly evolving and all it takes is two second’s inattention for a new type of smartphone or new application to hit the market. That is why the Orange live blog aims to always keep up-to-date with all the latest news so that you can keep track of these rich developments.

In this way, teams of motivated bloggers headed off to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February to bring you live updates on the latest mobile telephony innovations, as well as the Web’12 conferences in London to analyze tomorrow’s trends, and the heart of Orange’s Technocentre to look at the latest in-house applications. With many events planned, including a groundbreaking journey to the global capital of innovation, the autumn looks set to be particularly exciting on the Orange live blog!

sport

2012 was always going to be focused on sport, particularly with the London Olympics and UEFA’s Euro 2012 football tournament. But the celebrations got started far earlier on with the Orange live blog, kicking off with February’s Africa Cup of Nationsfootball tournament and Zambia’s magnificent and somewhat surprising victory over the Ivorian favorites in the final.

A few weeks later, Jean-Marc Mormeck took on the Ukrainian giant Wladimir Klitschko for the four world heavyweight belts, but the French boxer ended up on the canvas in the third round…

At the French Tennis Open, our guest bloggers took you behind the scenes of the year’s most eagerly awaited tournament, but also the one with the fewest upsets, as once again demonstrated by Rafael Nadal, who won at Roland Garros for the seventh time! This was followed by Euro 2012 and the incredible atmosphere covered by our special correspondents in Poland and the Ukraine, then the Tour de France, the ever popular cycling event that our bloggers took you to the very heart of, with groundbreaking content.

musique/cinema

The great thing about music is that, whatever the month, you can always find a group to go and see on stage or a concert to enjoy in your town or city. For instance, you have been able to experience the unique performance by Skip the Use, filmed entirely in 3D, in addition to discovering the fantastic work accomplished by the Orange Rock Corps teams, and the concerts that followed (Ting Tings, Sean Paul, etc.), while sharing the spectacular concert given by The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Madonna at the Stade de France.

Brad Pitt himself was in Cannes !

In terms of cinema, we assembled a crack team, finely led by Céline Louis, to bring you all the Cannes Festival’s latest news and events live each day from the famous Croisette. From film reviews to photo galleries and reports on evenings with the stars, our bloggers moved heaven and earth to bring you original content live. Date set for 2013 and another truly exceptional festival!

plans for the autumn…

From the start of September, the Orange live blog will be looking all over to find more fascinating subjects. In particular, do not miss the Orange Blogger Bus Tour from September 17 to 22: a journey to the heart of Silicon Valley with a team of 13 bloggers reporting to you live on their adventures. From October 10 to 12, women will be in the spotlight with the Women’s Forum live from Deauville, France, where our teams will once again be on the lookout to bring you the best scoops. While waiting for these and many other events, we would like to wish you all the best for the holiday season! Take care and see you soon.

So forgive my igrcnanoe, but why do so few Americans show up in Monte Carlo? Americans seem to be playing in the following tournaments in Europe. I know Davis Cup tied folks to US soil recently here, but that was a couple of weeks ago, and not every year. Is Houston so important? But I agree with Craig completely about letting them manage their own schedules. I’m just curious why they all don’t want to play Monte Carlo.
