If you follow me on Twitter, you will have been able to follow me on my travels using the party’s official hashtags: #sosh and #villainrocks. At around 18:00 I climbed up towards the heights of Cannes, heading for the garden of the Cannes Media Library where Villa InRocks has been set up. In spite of the rain, the garden soon filled up with well-known personalities and members of the public, and the Sosh party could begin!
There were various activities on offer, including the Sosh photo booth, where us bloggers had lots of fun taking a few snapshots:
At around 20:00, the rain stopped and everybody gathered around the stage to watch the exclusive screening of the documentary about LCD Soundsystem’s last ever concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. The documentary, entitled “Shut Up and Play the Hits” was directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, who already directed a documentary about Blur in 2010.
The documentary brings together interviews as well as footage from the concert, which really lifted the atmosphere at the party, and dancing around the stage was really fun!
At the end of the screening, 2 Many DJ’s got up on stage to keep the party going until 23:00. It was crazy, and despite the wet grass, everybody kept dancing to the DJs’ electro-dance beats.
At 23:00, the party drew to a close. I picked up my Sosh gift, a gorgeous pink pop phone, and then headed to the Château for an after party, and also to take the opportunity to look down in wonder at the superb view across Cannes.
A great evening, full of colors and music for Sosh, with the rain holding off long enough to let us uncover magnificent places, and most of all, to party!
