I suggest you read this extremely comprehensive and interesting article written by our colleagues from the ‘Oh My Phone!’ blog, describing the gifts that many of you will certainly receive for the Twelfth Night (Epiphany) on 6 January 2012.
This date is celebrated even more than Christmas in Spain and is the day when gifts are traditionally exchanged. According to the ‘Oh My Phone!’ blog, the Three Kings will mainly bring smartphones to our Spanish neighbours this year.
To celebrate epiphany I am asking the Three Kings to bring something that many people are asking for. Maybe not highly original but fairly predictable. The clothes, perfume and vouchers for spa sessions you bring to others are not for me – I would settle for one of Orange’s best smartphones, to start 2012 on a good note.
For taking photos at home…
Although you can now find any number of high quality digital cameras on many mobile phones, I would like the Three Kings to bring a SonyEricsson Xperia arc S from Orange for all those who love taking photos. The arc S is an impressive Android smartphone with an 8 MP camera and Exmor R sensor, which allows you to take even better photos in low-light situations. Its lens offers an f/2.4 aperture, and its lower depth-of-field allows you to focus more selectively. These features are further enhanced by a dedicated shutter and LED flash meaning pictures can be taken in rapid succession; all in all, this is a perfect smartphone for taking photos at home. You can also check the results of your efforts on the BRAVIA 4.2 inch screen – a real luxury!
For our beloved grandparents…
Our grandparents are always there when we need them, at all times. They need a mobile phone that is easy to use and convenient to carry, and the perfect solution is Orange’s Doro phone for the older generation. Its FM Radio and dedicated button for emergency situations are extra features of this clamshell mobile phone; also, it is undoubtedly the most practical phone.
For younger, more ‘social’ people…
Even though they are not even adults yet they have hundreds of friends on their social networks and need to stay connected to ‘their world’ throughout the day, through instant messaging or emails. If they have behaved well (and I am sure they have) bring them a Blackberry 9360 from Orange. They can constantly write using BlackBerry Messenger, thanks to its convenient QWERTY keyboard. They will be able to single-handedly browse using the integrated optical trackpad or share their surroundings with their Twitter followers using the 5 MP camera with flash, which also records videos.
For those wanting a better sound…
Lovers of music are easy to spot – moving about the city with high quality, enormous headphones on their heads. Surprise these people by bringing them an HTC Sensation XL Beats Audio. The adjective that best defines this smartphone is ‘breathtaking’. It stands out with its enormous 4.7 inch, high-resolution screen, and its incorporated high-quality Beats Audio earphones were especially designed for this model by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of these types of accessories.
For dads…
Dads deserve the best; namely, a surprising and innovative smartphone offering a system of the future, Windows Phone, which already offers over 50,000 applications. For this reason we are asking you to load your camels with Nokia Lumia 800 for all the dads. The Nokia Lumia 800 is a comprehensive mobile phone to help busy people throughout their long days at work and also to help them enjoy their free time – thanks to its fantastic 8 MP camera with its Carl Zeiss lens. It also offers GPS so there’s no excuse for getting lost when driving during the holidays.
For the most demanding…
People with aspirations and wanting to own the best need a powerful and exclusive mobile phone that offers the latest technology. For these people we are asking you to bring an iPhone 4S 16GB, the benchmark of smartphones; more powerful than ever and with a fresh approach thanks to its A5 dual-core processor (the same as the iPad 2), a spectacular 8 MP camera with an exceptionally high-quality sensor and a fantastic Retina screen.
We know we are asking a lot from you, but you are the Three Kings and you can do many things, so we are also asking you to bring Samsung Galaxy S2, the star Android phone of 2011, which will continue to shine over the coming year. With a Super AMOLED Plus 4.3 inch screen, 480 x 800 resolution, this smartphone will confidently handle the most demanding applications, with its Cortex-A9 dual core and 1.2 Ghz speed. Its 16 GB internal memory, 1 GB RAM and 8 MP camera, able to record HD videos, are the icing on the cake.
So we are saying goodbye to the Three Kings (Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar) for another year – hoping that all those who have been good in 2011 will have receive their due rewards and wake up on the morning of the 6th of January with a new mobile phone. And, meanwhile, we will continue to hope just like children do!
So, did you receive a smartphone for Christmas?
