While most people are enjoying the summer holidays dozing in the sun and what not, our colleagues from the Transmedia Lab have already drafted a list of transmedia events which you’d be a fool to miss this semester.

On the schedule are no less than 10 festivals, forums, shows and exciting conferences for all you transmedia fans out there : the TEDx Transmedia in Rome on September 28th, the MIPcom in Cannes from October 8th-11th, the Cross-Media Forum in London from October 16th-19th and the I Love Transmedia in Paris from October 18th-20th… Check out the Transmedia Lab website to find the complete list of events.

Have you heard of the TV show The Big Bang Theory ? If so, then you’re familiar with Sheldon Cooper and his very odd and nerdy friends, who spend their Wednesdays at the comic book store and wouldn’t miss the Comic’con in San Diego for the world. Maybe you yourself have dreamt of taking part in such an event one day. Well, you’ll be happy to hear that the first edition of the Paris Comics Expo will take place on October 27th and 28th at the Espace Champerret. Not much information has been leaked about the event as of now but the two days will be dedicated to the world of comic books and sci-fi movies.
The organizers want to move away from what has already been done by making the Paris Comics Expo all about sharing, and have announced plenty of master classes, conferences and meetings with actors, which ultimately means autograph sessions with the stars. Several celebrities are already expected such as Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn in Stargate SG-1), Ian Whyte (Prometheus, Clash of the Titans, Game of Thrones) and even Jeremy Bulloch, the infamous bounty hunter from Star Wars, Boba Fett. And it goes without saying that there’ll be plenty of shops to buy goodies from ! So all in all an event not to be missed, especially for those of you more used to the Vulcan Salute than a traditional handshake !
