Who said robotics and dancing weren’t compatible? Currently in its development phase, Navy robot CHARLI-2 has proven to be just as efficient performing tasks as it is performing on the dancefloor!
Cognitive Humanoid Autonomous Robot with Learning Intelligence version 2, or in other words CHARLI-2, is a 1,41m-tall humanoid robot designed and created by Dennis Hong, engineer at Virginia Tech’s Robotics & Mechanisms Laboratory. This 12.1kg being can walk at a speed of 1.4km/h and has been brought into this world as part of the Navy’s research to create the firefighting robot of the future.
However, it seems as though CHARLI-2 is not impervious to germs as the humanoid robot has caught the Gangnam style fever as you can see below!
Let’s hope the future generations of robots will be just as comfortable putting out fires as CHARLI-2 is on the dancefloor…
