Every four years, the Olympic Games enable thousands of athletes to display their talents in front of the whole world.
But the sportsmen and women present at the Olympics aren’t the only ones who make sure that the we are entertained. Indeed, all sorts of artists also take part in the proceedings, each in their own way. And for this 27th edition of the Games, the music industry is chipping in to make the party a success. At the end of last month, we gave you a glimpse of the official Olympic anthem, performed by Muse, which sparked mixed reactions from the public on the internet…
Today, we’d like to invite you to discover another tune, which should initiate further talks during the Olympics, which start on July 27th : «Theme for Velodrome». Conceived within the illustrious Chemical Brothers’ musical laboratory, this theme will be used as the official anthem for the unveiling of the brand new cycling track built exclusively for the Games. The famous band from Manchester, renowned for their hit «Block Rockin Beats» in 1997, give us a powerful synthetic beat which you can listen to right now !
After Muse’s «Survival», «Theme for Velodrome» is the second single available from an eagerly-expected Olympic compilation called «Rock the Games», where three more pieces appear. And when you look at the name of the artists, i.e. Dizzee Rascal, sir Elton john and Delphic, you know you’re in for something special !
