UEFA Euro 2012 – Atmosphere building up nicely in Warsaw !

The Poles have prepared an equally wonderful welcome for the teams taking part in the Championship: 25,000 people came to watch the Dutch team in training! Many had worn orange T-shirts to support the players. The German, Czech and Portuguese players were also amazed by the equally positive greeting that they received. The Spanish team was truly delighted: ‘We are in Gdansk! We had a great welcome; it was just like being at home! With each passing minute, the EURO’s are drawing nearer! Vamos!’ tweeted Gerard Pique, the Barcelona and Spain defender.

In Warsaw, where the official opening of the Championship and the first game between Poland and Greece will be held, everything is ready to go. In the largest locations in many cities, there are enormous ads for UEFA EURO 2012. Yesterday saw the official opening of the fan zone, where several thousand fans from various countries were celebrating the start of the tournament! There are many fans on the streets, mainly from Poland, of course. Volunteers are ready, waiting to provide tourists with any information that they might need, and the atmosphere is one of great joy.
